A little taste of Finals
I'm currently sitting in the library, trying not to be distracted from my final assignment for my brit. lit. class. But I thought you all might enjoy a little piece of what I'm doing. For my final I have to write three essays, one of which I am doing right now. The prompt is as follows, "Feminism' is as old as the sexual morphology of the species, yet many people believe it to be a recent phenomenon. How did 'feminist' ideas find expression throughout the history of British literature?" Here is my opening paragraph from my essay on this subject. "Although the idea of feminism has made itself more and more public since the 1960s, the roots of feminism can be traced all the way back to the Middle Ages, where figures like Boudicca began sowing the seeds of what would grow to be the feminist movement. Although there were no medieval bra burnings or ladies of the court calling themselves suffragettes, there still were the beginnings of feminist ideals. These ideals can be seen throughout the literature of the time periods leading up to the full realization of the feminist movement, whether from the Lais of Marie de France, the power wielded my Queen Elizabeth, or the controversial writings of Mary Astell, women have been empowering themselves long before the Nixon and Kennedy administrations." I hope you enjoyed that. I would normally be more reserved about putting that up for critique, but by the time you all read it, it will be turned in and nothing can be done about it.

well done bra burner.
thanks again for your kind act of service today.
This finals business just gets sweeter and sweeter.
I still can't believe little Jack is old enough to be in college...let alone addressing feminism in what looks to be a solid essay. Yikes!
ps-if finals had a taste what would it be?
Wow, Mr. Smarty pants. That paper you wrote is exactly why I know what a nucleotide is - much easier to understand than the history of feminism. Hope finals treated you well.
