A Humbling Stumbling

So I told this story to Kristin yesterday and she had to stop walking to laugh, so it was then decided that I should write a blog post about this experience of mine. Picture this, Tuesday, I am walking home from taking a final and I am feeling pretty good about life. My iPod is blasting a little Vampire Weekend and life is good. On my walk home I walk through a city block of cheap apartments that all look the same and have lame names like Stratford, Jamestown, etc. I know that I live at The Lanai and it's a little bit of the pot calling the kettle black but I digress. I came upon a larger couple sunning themselves on a blanket outside on of these apartments. Of course I made some comments in my head about them and right as I did I tripped a little bit over my feet, I thought that I gained my balance back but I hadn't, I in fact had stumbled upon a sewer grate and continued falling until I was on my back, facing the opposite direction I had been facing moments before. The couple, then with genuine concern, helped me up and got me my water bottle and iPod which had flown several yards to my left. I was never more embarrassed or ashamed of myself, I walked the rest of the way home with my head held low.

Ha, ha! People falling down kills me everytime...the underlying "karma" aspect makes it even better.

Mark June 3-13 on your calendar...you get to meet your nephew! :)

Not only did I have to stop and bend over to laugh about this...I even let out a little snort. It's things like this that keep your around.

Love the title. Luke and I like to play the rhyming game - this is a stumper for sure.

Good to know about the stumbling karma. I will make sure to never think mean thoughts at church - I don't think my 4" heels could take it.

I'm going to lift this post completely for my next bishopric message (with the appropriate commentary, of course).
