Defender of the Party

So, due to the current elections there has been a ever growing tension on BYU campus. Not so much if you support Obama, everyone pretty much leaves you alone, but when Mitt was still in the race it was pretty scary. Anyway, I had two brushes with some conservatives and it was interesting. The first, I was walking into the Wilk and had a Hillary button on my backpack and since it was lunchtime it was crowded, anyway I felt a tug on my backpack and turned around and a girl had taken off my button and put it in the trash. Crazy I know, the second was my way of fighting back. I was walking to the Jamba Juice to get a pick-me-up when I saw three people standing in front of the BYU Democrat booth, but no one was manning the booth. When I got closer I was the girl had a sharpie poised over a picture of Hillary and one of Obama, so naturally I sat down at the booth and asked them if I could help them. Fortunately I was wearing my "Barack Obama for President" t-shirt, so I carried it off pretty well and scared them away. My friend Macrae said I was a defender of the party. I like that, except it's a little marxist, stalinesque, comrade lenin for me.

Yeah working booths on campus! Boo ultra conservative "Vote your values, vote Republican" mormon kids that like to disrespect.

As a "defender" do you get to carry around a concealed weapon? Because I would like to look into that.

Have you talked to your bishop about this? What are you going to do next year for school when you no longer have an ecclesiastical endorsement?

Eww, what a nightmare girl, who does that? I am pretty sure the influence of Snyder family has slowly turned me away from the Republican party... oh your subtle influences.

Obama is on vacation this week, so the pressure is off for a few days, Jack.
